Since upgrading to Firefox 12 all hell has broken loose in our mutli-media websites...

Special jacascript effects no longer work. Background sound loading on opening crashes quicktime plug-in.

These all worked fine in FF 11 for all our sites.

We have 100's of pages affected by this...

Have had to temporarily tweak some sites to try and stabilise this mess...

Also status bar is a nightmare now - really annoying.

Had to install a third party add-on to see the status bar normally..

Chosen solution

Finally fixed the WMP issue in Server 2003 RS downloaded np-mswmp.dll from here:

Then pasted it into the Firefox/Plugins folder - ALL WORKS LIKE BEFORE...

You need the Windows Media Player plugin to play files with type="application/x-mplayer2"

Without that type declaration the QuickTime plugin will probably be used, provided that the mp3 file extension is selected in the QT preferences.

I'm not seeing the new WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll) in your system details plugins list.

Thanks for your reply - won't work with a Server - tried this.....

Problem is it ALL WORKED FINE in FF 11..wondering what they have done to it...

Still doesn't solve the problem of the wipes/splash that works fine in IE on the posted URL and used to in FF 11...

Have to try and fix everything cos anyone with FF 12 is not gonna see the sites like thye used to...very annoying...why can't the code writers leave things that work well alone....If it aint broke don't fix it....

Blessings..... Elijah
