The issue started when I left my mac alone for a while, came back, to see my system froze (while firefox was open) it had never done that before. I was forced to restart my computer with the power button.

When re-started, the system was fine, but everytime I start firefox (or Aurora) the system freezes again. Sometimes even before the session manager has a chance to come up, sometimes the session manager pops up after a while of waiting and not touching anything; I've tried starting a new session, not letting it restore my previous one, but as soon as it opened the system freezes again, the page not even getting a chance to load and stuck on 'connecting'.

I have no idea how to solve this issue. I've tried installing older versions, re-installing the new one, trying out the beta, but all of them make my system freeze completely and force me to restart my system, not even giving me a chance to export my bookmarks or anything...

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile:

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files
