I have been on a mission to block as many tracking, advertising, or otherwise nefarious cookies from getting into Firefox and my computer. Well, problem: I went to add a few more, and the list of blocked ones (under "Exceptions") had been truncated completely before li- name cookies! (All A-K cookies, as in aaa.com cookie, bfoq.com cookie, etc) were lost. The list just picked up in the middle of the L's. This leads me to two questions:

Is there a limit as to how many blocked sites Firefox will allow, or is this a bug? I've done nothing to remove any cookies from the proscribed list...

Is there any cache or otherwise where I might retrieve these entries, or someplace they might have gone? I'd like to relist them if I could...

Did you ever use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Site Preferences" ?

That removes all exceptions, including the cookie exceptions.

It is possible that the file permissions.sqlite that stores the exceptions is corrupted. So if you use external cleanup software then be careful if that does a cleanup of files in the Firefox profile folder.

I've never used clear recent history or erased preferences, but ty for the tip there. Plus, it was only A through part of L that got cut off... nothing after that. I had an equal distribution of cookie exceptions A-Z, and was not adding in strict alphabetical order. All after Liteweb.com are still there, and I added back a few before that URL, all of which are holding. I'll check out that permissions file... thx for the reply :) cesium...
