Whenever I use Thunderbird (TB) I get the following error message:Thunderbird is damaged and can't be reopened." This file was downloaded on an unknown date. What is the problem and how can I get rid of the error message.

Which is your operating system (OS) and which is the Thunderbird version?

The OS system I am running is 26.5.2. The Thunderbird version is 153.0.2. Any suggestions as to how I can eliminate this error message will be appreciated.

Did this happen after a recent Thunderbird update? This message could mean that your Thunderbird copy is really corrupted. Download a new copy of the Thunderbird 153.0.2.dmg installer from the following URL https://archive.mozilla.org/pub/thunderbird/releases/153.0.2/mac/ then remove your actual Thunderbird.app copy from the Applications folder and install the new copy by double-clicking on Thunderbird 153.0.2.dmg
