Tbird Incompatible (Win10) and spawns many instances

Mother-in-law's Win 10 PC suddenly since a few weeks flags TB as "incompatible". TB autoloads on boot and creates a lot of instances. Totally unusable. None of the top row options are accessible. She's not a power user so just needs the basics. Anyone else have this? Anyone know best way to fix it (eg Remove Program then install latest)? See pics.....

CORRECTION: TB doesn't autoload on boot. It is a Favorite on Microsoft browser so loads when clicked.

Why would you have a mail icon in the browser? What browser?

Regardless. My guess is you need to open each instance and actually close it using the File > close process. so the closure is remembered.
