Thunderbird will not save passwords SOLVED caused by ___(?)
The passwords are in my saved passwords but Thunderbird asks each time. I have deleted multiples instances of the same password saved, have deleted key3.db and cert8.db to no avail.

Do you have any kind of password management program, separately or part of a security suite? They have caused problems like this in the past. Also, the third file to delete is logins.json, in case the issue is file corruption.

You can tell Thunderbird to remember your account password. This is done by checking the corresponding box in the password prompt pop up.
Yes the box is checked. thank you for the attempt and reply.

krsurette,
What program did you determine to be causing your problem??
Nothing specific. i could not pin it down. Every day it asked so i went in and made sure saving passwords are checked and eventually it just stopped asking. Maybe i wore it down?.
