Syncing with Gmail Issues

more options

This is particular to syncing between Thunderbird and Gmail using IMAP. I understand Google may have download limits at a given time. Issue: I started the sync. All of the folders DID show up in Gmail but not all of the emails synced from T-bird to Gmail within those folders. Many folders that are full in Thunderbird are empty in Gmail. Also the number of emails in the Inbox in in T-bird is 1244 but in Gmail it is 1304 and I have verified that the newest emails in T-bird, let's say all of 2017 thus far, do not show up in Gmail. Question - when the sync actually starts is it always starting the resync with the same files, not picking up where it left off? Is there a way to tell in T-bird which files have synced and which have not and how do I get the next sync to start with the next file? And how do I sync just one particular folder in T-bird to Gmail?

Your issue seems to not be related to Thunderbird, but in fact a recurrence of this Gmail IMAP servers slow to response or failing issue. Curious tho, are the emails/files on both ends compressed or solely in Thunderbird? Also are there any additional parts that might be adding remote actions on Gmail's side like a series of large gpg clear-signed messages?
