lines should scroll according to what you have set in the OS.

Otherwise, check http://lmgtfy.com/?q=thunderbird+scroll+lines+adjust+mouse

Thanks,

But in my registry "wheelScrollLines is set to 3

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop

I calculate that in Thunderbird each click of my mouse wheel moves 17 lines down the page or up the page. The intellisense mouse software has no place to set scroll line numbers.

Using Microsoft Outlook 2003 the articles scroll exactly 3 lines with each Rotational click of the mouse wheel.

Any further help would be appreciated.

Thunderbird uses the same core code as Firefox. So, does this help? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1156970

Thanks,

mousewheel.min_line_scroll_amount "3"

I had adjusted this setting earlier with no effect, even on scroll speed.

I do have an adjustment for scroll speed in the intellisense mouse software. I do have the latest version of that software. There doesn't seem to be any setting that will allow me to control the scroll lines in ThunderBird.

Does Firefox behave the same way?

Thanks,

I checked several news sites and the line scroll is 4 to 5 lines.

Minimum scroll lines is not the same as max scroll lines.

I notice that if I select an email to read and the vertical scroll bar is shown and lets say the scroll bar looks as if it is one third of the window, so this means two thirds of the email is not visible.

If I press the space bar, it will scroll to the second third which happens to be about 17 lines. Of course if I change the height or width of the Message Pane, then the viewing area changes, so does scroll bar length and so does the number of lines if I use the space bar to scroll.

So the number of lines scrolled seems to be determined by the amount of viewing area and size of scrollbar.

To help with info on this......If you change height or width of Message Pane, does it scroll less or more lines?

Thanks,

After rebooting I now get about 8 lines. So something I changed has helped.

When I hit the space bar I counted 20 lines.

I installed "Theme Font and Size Changer to test the theory. I got about 8 lines at 100% and the same at 150% testing with the same email.

I am going to not worry with it any more.

Thanks for all the help
