Lightning will not allow 'copy' for Events. I have tried the context-sensitive 'right-click' menu, the Calendar Toolbar and the Menu bar: they either are greyed out, or allow copy, but then do not have an option for paste, or paste is non-productive. I have found previous bug reports on this from 2008, but no fixes. (Windows 10, Thunderbird 45.2.0, Lightning 4.7.2)

I don't understand what you are doing different. I copy and paste events with no trouble. I use the right click menu, the edit main menu or cntl-c cntl-v. They all work for me. I select the event in the calendar in month view and do the copy. I select the new day and do the paste.

This is with a non-recurring event. When I copy a recurring event it still copies, but the copied event is not recurring. Same versions as yours.

Maybe it has something to do with the calendar being corrupt. Can you create a new event in that calendar? Try creating a new calendar with a new test case.

New events are created without a problem; please refer to the original post.

shame you do not list the bug reports. makes a job for someone else to go look for them to know what you are talking about.

I have no issue unless I try to paste into a Google network calendar. My GMX and local calendars paste fine. Are you using Google?

If yes I assume this is the bug getting you https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=719351

The most up to date information will be in the bug discussion.

Thank you for your reply, Matt. Yes, I am using Google Calendar and, yes, this bug report does describe the issue, although the report is for a Mac bug. The workaround described by Dunq (Comment 8) does initially appear to fix the problem, but apparently the issue is still current.
