i have an unencryted on my search box and it pops up everytime i open mozilla? there is a gray symbol with it. want to get rid of it

want to get rid of an unencrypted site in my search box that will not go away. when i try to close it it shuts down to start menu. there is a gray symbol by it. am very much an illiterate computer user so make it simple PLEASE....

Hi

As a first step, I recommend that you update Firefox. You are currently using an older version, so may be missing out on security and stability fixes, as well as new features.
