Does not delete my data on exit

I have Firefox for android set to delete my history and my browsing data when I exit Firefox. It does not delete this data. I made sure the square was checked and then hit the set . it doesn't do it 

 I don't care to see all that history and search on my page Nothing but clutter.  I am thinking of, deleting Firefox and go with bing or Google instead.
