Cannot make multiple changes to Bt Yahoo email contacts. OK in IE

BT YAhoo email works fine browsing through Firefox but making a change or addition to the contact list siezes up the workings of the contacts and you can't access anything on the list without completely logging out of email and logging back in. Spoken to BT they say its a Firefox issue and the contacts list works fine in Internet Explorer. How do I get around this? I would still like to browse through Firefox.
