You migrated a large number of email files for me from Yahoo (address: jmarr@flash.net) to Hushmail (address: californiastop@hushmail.com) a year or two ago and I am eternally grateful for your excellent work . I would like to open a Thunderbird email account and have those files replaced there. If you still have access to those files, please process them again. If not, I'm not entirely sure they are still in Yahoo or accessible at Hushmail. Cost is no object.

Thanks very much!

Think you might be confused.

This is a free help service provided by other Thunderbird users acting as volunteers. All assistance is done via this forum. We do not actually do the job for you, but we advise on how to achieve it. There is no charge.

No one has the ability to access your private accounts on Yahoo or Hushmail, only you can do that or someone emplyed by those companies with permissions.

Thunderbird is a free email client Program you download to your computer. You can create either Pop or Imap mail accounts depending upon what your server / ISP offers. Download from here choosing language and OS version: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/all.html

Logon to your eg: Hushmail webmail account using a browser and select either Pop or Imap forwarding. Then when you first run Thunderbird, it will create a default Profile folder and then you create a mail account. As you already have an email address, you will be creating an existing mail account. Enter name, email address and the password you use to access that mail account via webmail. Thunderbird will attempt to get configuation details of the server, but it a good idea to know what the server settings are for eg: Hushmail just in case manual editing is required. Make sure the type of mail account is the type selected in webmail - pop or imap.

Pop can only access Inbox and download anything in Inbox to mail account Inbox in Thunderbird.. So, if you have emails in othe folder in webmail, you would have to move them into server Inbox and resort them when downloaded.

Imap mail account offer a remote view of folders on the server. You subscribe to see those fodlers and if you want, you can synchronise those folders to get a copy on your computer, but the folders continue to synchronise to keep the copy in synch with the server. Good if you need to access the mail account from different computers.

You could create a mail account for the yahoo and the hushmail accounts. You can have several mail accounts. You can have Pop and Imap mail accounts.
