Back button greyed out, not saving usernames, lost bookmarks, not using private browsing, cookies excepted, can it be reverted for previous functionality?
About 3 weeks ago, my desktop and laptop, on different days, greyed out the previously working backbutton in firefox, lost all bookmarks and the ability to save usernames. I am using a Mac OS 10.5.8 on a desktop with 2 2.93 GHz quad-core intel Xenon, couple of years old. Firefox version 3.6.12. I am not using private browsing, I have not changed the cookie exceptions, haven't cleared recent history, it is scanned for viruses etc with McAffe. Any further ideas? Many thanks.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
