Thunderbird is caught in a loop: After importing my personal key and accepting it, everything seems fine. I then need to verify the recipients key. Afterwards, the private key isn't verified anymore. Reinstalling Thunderbird hasn't helped, currently running version 91.10.0 on 64-bit Windows 10 (the problem occured right after installing thunderbird and exists since then). I already tried to generate a new private key, but the problem remains the same.

I then need to verify the recipients key.

What does this mean exactly, and what are you doing?

Afterwards, the private key isn't verified anymore.

Meaning not accepted anymore? How do you determine it isn't accepted?

What are you trying to achieve in the first place?

In the Open PGP Key Manager I need to accept a key in order to send an encryptet mail to the adress.

Yes. Under "Preferences" - "End-to-End Encryption" - "OpenPGP" it says (with my personal key selected): "To use this key you must approve it as a personal key!". After accepting the key ("Key Properties" - "Your Acceptance" - checking "Yes, use this key as a personal key") the acceptance of the other keys in the Key Manager ("Open PGP Key Manager" - Recipients Key - "Key Properties" - "Your Acceptance") is reset to "No, reject this key". Attempting to send an encrypted Mail fails with the Message "Unable to send this message with end-to-end encryption, because there are problems with the keys of the following recipients: [recipients mail-adress]."

What are you trying to achieve in the first place?

I'm trying to send encrypted mails.
