Emails getting rerouted and read by an Iceland address

more options

I've been working through Thunderbird for a few years now but recently I've received word from a client that emails are apparently being rerouted and read through Iceland. Here is what they are getting:

I don't know if this is happening on his end or mine and I don't know how to check and confirm. It has happened when sending emails through two Gmail accounts through Thunderbird and I have two factor authentication so I don't believe the email accounts themselves are compromised. My best guess is that the issue is an email client, either mine or his. Is there any way to confirm?

Well you could look at the source of the send item in the send folder.

I checked the source code of the send item. I can't find anything to indicate a redirect. I have encountered some examples of Outlook read receipts being attributed to the wrong time zone. It is possible that this is the cause and there isn't any rerouting involved.

Has anyone else ran into this?
