Why does Firefox wants me to update several times per day; I have MacBook Pro OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.4.

At first, I did the updates everytime I was prompted and got the latest version several days in a row. I continue to get the same reminders numerous times a day even if I've just updated, including every time Firefox is closed and reopened. It is extremely irritating as this is my work laptop.
