The thread pane of the Inbox is blank.

I have multiple accounts and, since a few days, the thread pane of the Inbox of the first account remains blank, although there is a number of messages. I can nevertheless display a message when I choose blindly a line in the pane. It is like the message list there were written in white invisible characters. All other folders of the first account work regularly as also the Inboxes of the other accounts do.
