when I try install firefox, I get message that firefox quits working when I get to part of importing ie bookmark. Tried several times, can't get ie bookmarks. Help

When you run the Firefox installation routine, bypass the importing of your IE favorites. Once Firefox is installed you can export your favorites from IE in HTML format and then import that file into Firefox like this:

In IE:
File > Import/Export - Export to HTML file

then in Firefox:
Bookmarks > Organize Bookmarks -> Import & Backup - Import HTML... = From HTML file
