Firefox 115ESR -- Can't Export Passwords.CSV; Blank?

Hey Bee, just to check what the best plan should be — you're not signed into your Mozilla account in that browser, and don't use sync functionality, or syncing account/password data to another Firefox instance e.g. on a mobile device — so you plan to do this manually?

Are you actually upgrading to a different machine, or just want to update the existing browser where it is located now — and if so, do you aim to start with a clean slate and just bring over select data, or you'd prefer to move over the complete profile with all the settings and history etc. as a whole ideally?

I just want the passwords so I can stick 'em in BitWarden and not have to do this whole rigamarole again. I don't mind starting fresh as long as the logins come over.

Well, trying to troubleshoot the export on an outdated version (that probably went through OS or device upgrade or migration as well) might be a little complicated — I'd actually suggest backing up the profile folder on disk e.g. to a ZIP and placing it somewhere secure so that you can always go back to that state — and then plan on upgrading the profile in place, or ideally creating an extra one for the update path in the long run to be modifying only the clone, not the original.

Basically if you read through Restore bookmarks, passwords and data from an old Firefox profile and Manually back up and restore Firefox profile data to give you the idea, you can then use that "manual" file and folder access to make as many profile backups and clones as you wish if you now make a copy of the current state someplace safe.

Once you have your profile folder backed up, let's get first that outdated ESR 115 to its last patch to see if the about:logins improves — if you go to https://www.firefox.com/en-US/download/all/desktop-esr/win/en-US/ there will be the last button "Download ESR 115" that will provide you an installer that will bring your years old 115.19esr to 115.38esr to help with any long standing bugs.

If you still can't access the password list after updating, try restarting into Troubleshoot Mode from Help menu, to see if the passwords load that way.

If neither of that helps, I'd either 1) try with a new profile and transferring the data there manually, to see if the login database works under separate clean profile, or 2) try upgrading which will also upgrade the encryption on the login database (which can either improve things… or the opposite). — Which way you'd prefer to try?
