Tabs always start in mute mode. I can turn it on by pressing speaker logo in the tab. The problem is when I shift to a new tab, the previous tab mutes automatically. For example: I listen to YouTube music and want to check my mail. When I shift focus to the new tab the first mutes it self. Any suggestions please. Sincerely Oscar.

Try disabling your extensions.

You can check media.default_volume on the about:config page and make sure it is default (1.0).

Also check the auto play settings.
