When I downloaded thunderbird to new PC/Windows 10, I got too many mailboxes (junk mailbox, junkmail mailbox, sent mailbox, sent messages mailbox etc. for example. How do i delete mailboxes I don't want and don't use.

I have no idea how I got them, but probably have 10 or more boxes I didn't set up.

they are folder for mail within a mail account. At least that is what you mentioned in your naming.

Many folk are used to POP mail and find IMAP strange when they choose it. )IT is a default so you choose it by not changing the entry)

Quite possible you need to remove the account from Thunderbird and add it again as a POP{ account. But only you can decide that.
