My IMAP account in Thunderbird is not syncing with the Yahoo server - what are the correct settings?

I have successfully set up a Yahoo! Plus email account in Thunderbird. All messages migrated. But when testing the synchronization by deleting an e-mail in the web version of Yahoo! and then waiting to see how long it takes to update in Thunderbird, I discover that the message update in TB never occurs. The box for "Keep messages for this account on this computer" is checked. What am I missing? Thanks for any help you can provide.
