I can't save any files from the web onto my computer. How do I correct this?

I just got a brand new laptop, and downloaded Firefox a couple of days ago as my browser. So everything is completely up to date. When I right click on an image, link, or otherwise and select "save as", nothing happens. The right click menu just disappears without continuing the process. I'm running Windows 7. Thanks.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode
