I am told to do this: At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox menu" but I cannot find "Firefox" at top of window.
I am trying to set up private browsing. I am told "At the top of the Firefox window, click the Firefox menu" but I cannot find the word "firefox at the top of my window.
Chosen solution
Oh, sorry. If you want to start a private browsing session, there is a selection for that on the menu. You only need to go into Options if you want to always use private browsing mode.
orange Firefox button > Start Private Browsing

Firefox has two possible sets of menus:
(1) Abbreviated menus accessed through an orange Firefox button
(2) Classic menu bar
If you are looking for Firefox > Options then in the classic menu bar, this is under Tools > Options
To switch between the two, you can right-click a blank area of the menu bar (or most other toolbars) and check or uncheck Menu Bar.
Does that solve the mystery?

Well, thank you jscher2000! I have been asking mozilla "where is this mysterious Firefox button"? No replies, no help. You are the first to explain it.
Odd that FF never explains this in their mostly useless help sections.
I can go into options. (Thank you) but I do not see how to get from that into private browsing.

How strange. Their instructions do not mention that "private browsing" is in the tools menu. Thank you very much.
