Firefox (and Thunderbird) open to the taskbar and will not maximise, I have no access to the programs at all, how can I fix this. I have been running them without issue for months.

Thunderbird started doing this last month, Firefox started yesterday. I have not changed anything on the computer. There are 4 other users who do not have this problem, I am the administrator. I have run all the updates, anti-virus, troubleshooting, everything I could find to run, nothing has worked. It pins to the taskbar, will not maximise or close, each new tab/window does the same, I have to force logoff. I have set it to open maximised and still no difference.
