I downloaded and installed version 4 but my firefox homepage still says version 3?

more options

I have downloaded and installed (many times) firefox 4 and used the wizard to do this. I even then let the wizard open firefox for me (a number of times after the install had finished) and I still get the previous version of firefox opening up. Eg the message still says firefox 4 is available etc. I have removed the shortcut from my desktop, used the new icon from my program files folder but still version3 opens. Any ideas?

This site says you posted with the latest version.

Your shortcut may lead to the old Firefox start page, which is a Google page with Firefox skinning. The new Firefox start page is an internal page called about:home. The old page hasn't yet been (and might not be) updated to Firefox 4 awareness, since it is no longer the default.

Not sure of the best solution. You might just have to try a couple of different start pages and pick your favorite.
