firefox only opens cached web pages and not current pages, why, and how to correct

IE type in "define weather patterns " and receive a list of urls. click on any url and response in box saying you are trying to open by browse. will not open current web page but will open the cached site and from there I can then open current web pages. how to correct problem so I can open current site? this problem just started.
