why is firefox remembering my sign in names on yahoo mail and gmail - how do I stop that

all of a sudden, firefox is remembering my email addresses for yahoo mail and gmail - not the passwords, just the email addresses. I hope there's a way to turn this off - it's a huge potential loss of privacy.
