Mouse click and highlight disappears

I am just starting to have an issue with firefox and it's mouse functions. When I go to the search toolbar or the URL location and click it does not give me a cursor, nor will it highlight any text. I am able to start typing and it becomes visible. Just no indication that I am in the correct spot.

In text on a webpage, mouse will not highlight when clicking and dragging the mouse.
