X5.8, using FF 3.4, download 3.6 in apps..old 3.4 not replaced, throw away 3.4 not in apps but near

Using FF3.4xx on X5.8 OS. The 3.4 was never put in the Apps but just on the hard drive and it still exists there and is the version that comes up. I downloaded the 3.6xx version and its instruction was to put it in Apps and there it sits. No instruction of how to replace the 3.4xx with the new 3.6xx.
