"new window" opens home page, not same page I was on

When I'm on any site other than my designated home page, and I want to open another window by going to File - New Window, the new page that comes up is my home page. When I take the same action in IE, the new page that comes up is a duplicate of the page I was on, *not* my home page. Is there any way to make Firefox do this as well?
