I came across an article on the net that described how to move the disk caches of IE8, Firefox, and Chrome to a DataRAM RamDisk. I tried it out on IE8 and was pleased with the results., but when I decided to do it for Firefox 3.6.9, the setting they used to designate the new location seems to have gone missing. Is there still a way to move the disk cache to a new location in this version?

You will need to add a new hidden preference, for details see http://kb.mozillazine.org/Browser.cache.disk.parent_directory

I know of one add-on that allows you to move the cache. The add-on is mainly intended to enhance tabbed browsing features but also has the option to move the cache. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/13288/
