While trying to delete an unused ad-on, i erroneously deleted my Menu and Navigation bars. Now, despite having uninstalled and re-installed Firefox, no menu or navigation bars are there when I open up. I can only get my homepage. How do I re-install Firefox so that i can navigate, use bookmarks, and so on? These options are still available on IE, so it's not something in my computer.

Chosen solution

I found a solution myself. When uninstalling Firefox, I was asked if I wanted to keep (or not) my personal preferences. The first two times, I left this box unticked. On the third occasion, I ticked this box, and when Firefox was re-installed, the preference I had erroneously selected, that of deleting the Menu and Nav. bars, was left out, and everything was back to normal.

Hello,

Try this 1.

Hold the "Alt" key and press the "F" key --> Now you can see the "Menu Bar" at

the top --> Now right-click on "Menu Bar" --> Select the option "Menu Bar", if

menu bar is missing. If "Navigation Toolbar" is also missing then select the option

"Navigation Toolbar" also.

Good Luck.

nandha: THANK YOU SO MUCH ...for posting that solution!!! I had accidentally "turned off" all of my toolbars and menu bar and could not navigate! As I looked up the solution on Help, I was reading the post of another poor soul who had done this very same thing and had already assumed that his only option was to re-install Firefox (and had done so 3 times before posting his issue!)!! I was just rolling my eyes and gagging at the prospect of having to re-install ANYTHING at 2am...when I saw YOUR solution just below his issue...and VIOLA!!! Holding Alt and pressing F is SOOOO much easier than having to re-install! Thanks so very much! Cristina in Tampa

Nandha, what an elegant and simple solution for those of us who, in the wee hours of the morning, turn off the wrong tool bar. Thank you for your contribution, it saved much time, aggravation, and panic. Rhys from Maine
