Dear reader,

I have a problem and i hope you can help me with that. I have an old email address with old messages i would like to keep. Therefore i loaded the account in Thunderbird and i imported the messages. The problem is now that Thunderbird each time at start wants to connect with the old server/provider which i don't have anymore. Is there a way to deactivate the account at start, and still keep the old messages in Thunderbird ? With kind regards,

I suggest making folders in Local Folders, copying all messages to those new folders and then you could delete the old account.
