Firefox for windows, version 96: File protocol is opening files as read only

more options

Hi, I have made a program in php that only works on Firefox, and that is used to handle (create, read, write,...) files in the server, using the file:///// protocol.

Everything is working fine on several networks,... until the last one I've just installed, in a Windows computer, with Firefox 96.

The behaviour is very wierd. When I click on the link (with the file:// protocol) it opens the classical popup asking if I want to open or download it, and the checkbox with the option to not to ask it again...

-> If I don't check the checkbox, it is always opened as a read only file, and I can't modify it, logically. -> If I check the checkbox, the file is opened as a read only file, but afterwards, when I click the link (and there is no popup window with that question) the file is always opened correctly, in edit mode.

I can confirm that the system permissions are okay.
