I want to delete individual cookies. How can I get rid of the latest "update?"

more options

I KNEW this would be a huge mistake. Now I can't delete individual cookies. The "manage data" option only brings up a list, with no drop down menu as described and no option to delete individual cookies. I want to uninstall the latest update because it degraded the functionality of the system. I'd hate to go to another browser, but that seems to be the next step.

I'm really frustrated that the Mozilla organization has so little respect for users. It didn't seem that way in the past.

...and it started working. For no good reason, this didn't work and then it did. I had already tried every solution you mentioned except going through the steps in stackoverflow.

Now it works. I will never know why the buttons didn't appear before. I had it zoomed out to microtype at one point.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate the time you took to do all this. Even though it eventually resolved on its own, this was very nice of you. Thanks.

Hello susankaveny1,

When you go to Options => Privacy & Security => under "Cookies and Site Data" => Manage Data - here you can delete cookies on a per-domain level. But if you want to delete or edit individual cookies for a site, you can do so in the storage inspector of the developer tools : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Storage_Inspector

Also per site : when you click on the little 'i' in a circle (left side of the address bar) at the bottom of the dropdown you'll see : "Clear Cookies and Site Data".

Would that work for you  ?

No dropdown menu is showing up at all, so that doesn't work. I click on the individual domain, it highlights it in blue and it all stops there. If I click on it again, it removes the highlight.

I'm very frustrated with it and would love to undo it.

When you click on the little 'i' in a circle, at the left end of the address bar (next to the green padlock) on any site - you don't get a dropdown  ?

Yes. I will try that later today, and thanks for the replies. I would consider the opportunity to delete cookies by domain an upgrade, but there's no dropdown menu that appears when you click on the domain under "manage data" on this machine. There are no options there. Were the heading on it "data" instead of "manage data" it would describe the situation well.

The reason this is a pressing issue is that right after the Quora accounts were all hacked, I started seeing cookies with names that ended in comrarlta showing up with a variety of lead ins with every letter in the alphabet. They would be like "amnxl.comrarlta" and then one starting with a b and so on. A full scan found nothing but deleting them improved the performance on this PC. I deleted every one, and in the process of doing it, triggered an update to Firefox.

I would have kept the old system while I was messing with that. I'm a top writer on that site and need to use it. I'm pretty sure it was the source.

When you want to remove a site when you've clicked on "Manage Data" : You click on the site, which will then highlight - you then click on "Remove Selected" and then on "Save Changes".

But you take all the time you need - it's a lot to take in.

Let me reiterate, there is no option on my machine to "remove selected." None. Nothing, nada, not one single thing. That's what's missing. I don't know why it's missing, but instructions on how to use a missing feature aren't helpful. Right clicking on the highlighted selection removes the highlight. There's nothing there to use.

Those buttons ( "Remove Selected" and "Save Changes") aren't showing, because maybe there is not enough room for them to show  ? What happens when you zoom out (Ctrl plus the minus key) - does that help  ? If not : would it be possible for you to provide a screenshot  ?
