For example - I might start with 'eba' and the choices are Google search for ebay; aol search, etc. I have turned off all ot the search engines in Tools / Options / Search. This used to work - something has changed.

Separate Security Issue, please update your Flash 29.0 r0 Flash Player Version: 30.0.0.113 Current Version https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/ Step 1: Select Operating System Step 2: Select A Version (Firefox, . . . .) Note: Other software is offered in the download. <Windows Only>

Hi, so if you do not have in Options --> General --> Browsing : Search for text when you start typing turned on it will not auto complete.

And under Privacy & Security --> History set to remember it will not show above as well as under Address Bar the 3 options checked there.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Hi lynnlieb, if the first two replies don't resolve your question, could you explain what you want in a little more detail?

When you type in the address bar, Firefox may show up to five types of suggestions:

  • In the address bar itself:
    • The top level address of a site in your history ("autofill")
  • In the address bar drop-down:
    • Search engine suggestions from your current default search engine
    • Matching sites from your history
    • Matching sites from your bookmarks
    • Matching sites you already have open in a tab

Which of those do you want to turn on/off? Or did you mean something different?
