I couldn't find other place to contact mozila about it (in the website the only place where I can ask a question like this demands me to be press related), so had to be here. Please indicate other apropriate chanel if available. The reason to this question is that pocket, in my vision, is not aligned to the vision mozila tries to pass and the reason i use firefox. I cannot know what they do with my data, and I have no access to the knowledge users generate while using it. Its a closed application. It concentrates power, and doesn't even allow me to fetch articles with API so I can use later how seems fit, not even if i pay for it. So, I don't understand why pocket is integrated with mozila firefox, and merely disabling it is not enough, as mozilla itself is an idea that i used to support and spread. But I cant, for now at least.

This is the latest article I've seen on Pocket from the Mozilla site:

https://blog.mozilla.org/futurereleases/2018/01/24/update-on-pocket-and-firefox-integration/

Perhaps a better place to discuss would be: http://discourse.mozilla.org/

If you want the source code of the extension that adds the Pocket button to the interface, it is in the program folder. You hid your OS, but here's where you could find it on Windows (32-bit/64-bit vary), either:

  • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\browser\features\firefox@getpocket.com.xpi
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\browser\features\firefox@getpocket.com.xpi

An XPI file is a ZIP archive.

The code of Firefox that integrates Pocket stories into the new tab page is available on the DXR site: https://dxr.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/source/ (under the Activity Stream directory).

Regarding the service's use of data and its API, you probably should contact Pocket directly:
