I request my new emails by "Get new Message" and then it starts downloading. Then it disappears and suddenly it starts downloading again. Only to disappear again. What is the problem? I'm using Thunderbird for more than 5 years now and it never happened in the past. I'm confused.

If it's a gmail account, 52.2.0 unfortunately has a problem. This will be solved soon by 52.2.1.
