In previous versions of Thunderbird I could simply drag an email address from my "personal" (mostly used) address book to my "collected" address book of only occasionally used addresses. Now every email I add to my address book goes directly to my personal address book and I cannot move the ones I want to move to my collected address book. How can I do this?

I have tried dragging and dropping, and copying and pasting. Neither works. I have also tried opening the main address book page, highlighting an address I want to move then looking in Tools, View, etc. for a way to make the move. Nothing works.

Chosen solution

Drag and drop still works. Restart Thunderbird in safe mode with add ons disabled and see if it works for you. You do that from the Help Menu or by holding the Shift key when opening Thunderbird.

Thank you for the help. That worked perfectly!

If it works in safe mode you have an add on causing problems. You can activate them one at a time to find the trouble maker.

Thank you again. I will check my add-ons
