Only one folder of my bookmarks is empty and its the most important one of course. I tried the posted recoveries on lost bookmarks w/o success please help!

I recently updated my firefox on my laptop and it seems like everything is fine except tonight I realized that only one folder in my bookmarks doesn't have bookmarks pre update, the other folders have their old bookmarks.

I tried to follow the posted troubleshooting steps but once i get my profile directory show in finder button a new window pops up but nothing in that default folder contains the lost bookmarks.

A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
