Thunderbird freezes when saving message on the computer

Hello, It's been a few days Thunderbird freezes when I want to save a message on the computer (save as). When I close the saving window which is not responding, it automatically saves the message on my desktop. The file where the last message was successfully saved is still existing so I don't think it is a path problem. I have tried to restart it without the add-on but it doesn't change anything. And it is up-to-date. Anyone knows what the problem could be? Thank you! Estelle

Turning hardware acceleration on/off. First, check if hardware acceleration is enabled. If it is on, try turning it off and disabling it entirely to see if it resolves the issue. Next, configure your antivirus to exclude thunderbird.exe, or enable real-time protection for 5 minutes. This is often the key to stopping the program from freezing.

Clear recent file history as option. Are you using a Mac or a Windows PC? If you want to clear your recent files history, here is how to do it. For Windows: Open File Explorer and right-click on Quick Access.>in the left sidebar>select Options> and under the Privacy section>click the Clear button next to >Clear File Explorer history). For Mac: Go to the Apple menu, select Recent Items, and clear the menu.

Tip Other options include starting up in troubleshoot mode and trying to repair those folders using Thunderbird's Repair Folder function.

Cleaning the PC or software (inbox/folders) of too much data will do too.

Bonjour Aixue, Activer/désactiver l'accélération matérielle : Tout d'abord, vérifiez si l'accélération matérielle est activée. Si c'est le cas, essayez de la désactiver complètement pour voir si cela résout le problème. Ensuite, configurez votre antivirus pour exclure thunderbird.exe, ou désactivez la protection en temps réel pendant 5 minutes. C'est souvent la solution pour empêcher le programme de se figer. Optionnel : Effacer l'historique des fichiers récents. Utilisez-vous un Mac ou un PC Windows ? Si vous souhaitez effacer l'historique de vos fichiers récents, voici comment faire : ⚫Pour Windows : Ouvrez l'Explorateur de fichiers, faites un clic droit sur Accès rapide dans la barre latérale gauche, sélectionnez Options, puis dans la section Confidentialité, cliquez sur le bouton Effacer à côté de Effacer l'historique de l'Explorateur de fichiers. ⚫Pour Mac : Allez dans le menu Pomme, sélectionnez Éléments récents, puis cliquez sur Effacer le menu. Conseil : D'autres options incluent le démarrage en mode de dépannage ou la tentative de réparation des dossiers en utilisant la fonction Réparer le dossier de Thunderbird. Nettoyer le PC ou le logiciel (boîte de réception/dossiers) d'un trop-plein de données peut également fonctionner.
