Firefox MAC freezes intermittently , will get spinning beach ball and status shows Firefox (Not Responding) and must force quit FF.
Sometimes FF after fresh down load from the official FF site for MAC will work great for an hour or half a day and then out of now where go into the spinning beach ball , and unable to enter data into any field - completly bricked and FF status shown as Not Responding. Tnis could happen immediately, or after an hour or anytime within a day or two.
No way of deciphering or determining what in the heck triggers it or why - way way too many factors and settings and variables both within the FF registry and the macOS and the activity I may or may not be doing at any given time.
I will say I experienced this when all apps on my MAC were shutdown, no apps up and running, but I do use Backblaze, Mai Backup X, Malwarebytes, Dropbox, MS NTFS Tuxera, DriveDX which all have ongoing background tasks running all the time or at least in the background from time to time.
However, I have used this setup for the last few years with Firefox MAC with absolutely no hiccup whatsoever.
And then immediately after the last FirForx update on Tahoe, just before I applied the latest 16.5.1 Tahoe upgrade is the intermittant freezing with FF started.
Could this be a FF / Tahoe incompatibility issue?
If not, does anyone out there have anything to fix this?
And yes i did a complete uninstall of all of FF hidden Library folders as well as the "firefox.app" itself - if anyone tells me to uninstall all the hidden FF folders and files in ~/Library one more time, then forget it, I am done using FireFox. Been there and done there a number of times the last week, exhausted with that, and doesn't do a thing.
And yes kept deleting and creating new FF profiles and did not fix the issue.
So does some great genius Mozzilla FF Mac SW engineer have any clue as to the real issue and the real fix without sending me on a wild goose chase?
thank you. clb6

SOLUTION: Third party audio were being used instead of built-in MacBook Pro Speakers in system settings-> Sound -> Output.
Confirmed by Mozilla Bug "2045209 MacOS Firefox MAC 151.0.3 (aarch64) Freezes intermittently" as diagnosed by Mozilla Firefox MAC Bug Engineer per .jason files as well.
Confirmed and re-confirmed this was the issue by switching between the two.
Uninstalled all third party audio drivers from both Output and Input, such as Filmora screen app driver and MMAudio Device drivers.

OK: UPDATE:
Issue: Firefox kept freezing even when creating a new Profile.
SEE UPDATE BELOW, NOT SURE OF ANY BUG IN 1Password, issue may be have been twofold with no real solution only temporary workarounds, see below :
Apple latest update about two weeks ago to macOS 26.5.1 Firefox MAC latest update about two weeks ago to 151.0.3 (aarch64)
————————————————
May have contirbuted to freezing out my password managers, nordvpn, chess.com in Firfefox MAC and froze all my browsers essentially.
Even Lastpass began to freeze in my Firefox Mac.
All my browsers on my MAC after the latest macOS Update began freezing without any extension enabled.
However, per immediately below, after numerous complete uninstalls and re-installs of Firefox MAC I am currently able to use 1Password manager and NordVPN (only when needed for special circumstances) and under any circumstances can i now use chess.com in firefox MAC.
The only thing I did in Firefox MAC that may or may not have permanently fixed the freezing issue except for chess.com is the followoing:
— about:config
— security.webauth.webauthn : double click to “false”
— settings —> General —> uncheck
“Use recommended performance settings” : Uncheck
“Use hardware acceleration when available” : Uncheck
———————————————————
DO NOT try to use chess.com ever ever ever in Firefox MAC, only use chess.com in Chrome and only per below instructions.
no matter what password manager i use firefox mac 151.0.3 (aarch64) freezes
When Firefox Mac freezes during logins, it is usually caused by a conflict between Firefox’s WebAuthn (passkey) API and macOS iCloud Keychain or system autofill. The browser hangs because it gets caught in an infinite loop waiting for the OS to trigger a prompt that never arrives. [1, 2, 3]
SOLUTION POSSIBLY FOR 1PASSWORD IN FIREFOX, BUT NO SOLUTION FOR CHESS.COM, ITS ARCHITECTURE IS NOT APPLE COMPLIANT:
HOWEVER: Can Play Chess.com ONLY in Chrome Browser AND seems to work if Disable the following items in Chrome Browser Settings:
— Settings —> Privacy & Security
— Block Thrid Pary Cookies : Toggle “OFF”
— All Site Data & Permissions:
— Delete All Data , Except for 1Password
And even after a few games will hear no sound and thats when I know to clear history cache, quit Chrome, and do above items , especially Delete All Data (except for 1Password).
