Sort Folders first whn looking for attachments

SuMo Bot replied

When adding attachments I would like the folders sorted first and at the top of the list for any given folder.

Does Thunderbird use it's own file manager or does it call one from the OS? How can I configure it so that the folders are sorted in alpha/descending order followed by files sorted in alpha/descending order?

It's using your OS window. As with any folder that contains folders and files, you sort by 'Name' to get into an alphabetical order by name of folder and file. click on the column header 'Name', click again to reverse the sort (if required)

I don't think you understood my post Toad, I don't want the files and folders sorted alphabetically, I want folders sorted first. I want to avoid having to scroll to find a folder, I want the folders all at the top.

I found a solution: Right click on a folder or file in the list of the pop up window and you get a balloon with some preferences that include "Sort Folders before Files"
