Meanwhile, if you use a very basic test page, does Firefox ask you whether you want to give the site permission to use your microphone?

For example: https://mdn.github.io/web-dictaphone/

For some reason, I don't get the prompt on my iPad. iOS settings indicates Firefox hasn't asked for permission to use the microphone, which is strange. Hopefully someone who knows their way around iOS better than me can sort this out.
