how to get rid of the high lighting on browser page

more options

I have a new computer (windows 7) and when I go to a browser page I get this high lighting of the entries. When I use Microsoft browser I don't get this and if I use my old laptop (xp) and on firefox I don't get this high lighting. Does this have something to do with Haiku? I really like to get rid of this high lighting. Thanks Jack Braton +++++++@kc.rr.com

Hi Jack, do you mean, for example, on search results pages, that the headings of each result are colored? That can be caused by an add-on associated with your security software, which is conveying whether it believes those sites are safe or dangerous.

To review your extensions you can use the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions. Then case a critical eye over the list on the right side. Feel free to disable the ones that do not seem especially useful, since all extensions are optional and none come with Firefox.

If you don't think it is related to that kind of feature, could you describe where the highlighting appears in more detail. Perhaps it would help to post a screen shot illustrating the problem.
