My appearances keeps on reverting to default + it keeps deleting

Ok the problem's simple: you know how you can change your appearance for mozilla on the top? Yeah, well, everytime I download one and set that specific appearance, it's good. After restarting the browser, however, the appearance goes back to default. Not only that, but *all*, and as in ALL my downloaded appearances disappears, or simply, deletes itself after restarting. Help?

You can check for problems with preferences.

Delete possible user.js and numbered prefs-##.js files and rename (or delete) the prefs.js file to reset all prefs to the default value including prefs set via user.js and prefs that are no longer supported in the current Firefox release.

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

This would normally happen if there is a problem with the lightweightThemes.usedThemes pref.

The data of all installed Personas and its background color and text color are stored in the lightweightThemes.usedThemes pref in JSON object format ({"id":"#","name":"xxx",...}).

The first entry of this pref is the currently selected Persona.

Do you have this pref and does it have the expected content of installed lightweight themes?

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Did you try to delete the mentioned files in the Firefox profile folder?

You can use this button to go to the currently used Firefox profile folder:

  • Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problem.

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
