I clicked on 'Tools' - then scrolled down to 'Options', then when the window is open I set 'When Firefox Starts' to 'Show my windows and tabs from last time' and the 'Home page' is set to default. And occasionally the Firefox browser would crash or I would re-start my computer but Firefox does not recover my previous browsing windows/tabs. Please help!!!

If you use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the 'Browsing History' when you close Firefox then restoring tabs from the last session ("Save & Quit" or "Show my windows and tabs from last time") doesn't work.

Thank you cor-el for your reply. I don't think I cleared 'Recent History'. When I clicked on 'Tools', then 'Options', then 'Privacy' - History is set at Firefox will "Remember history". When I scroll down to "Use custom settings for history", the "Clear history when Firefox closes" option is not checked.

@core-el, Clear Recent History is no longer capable of being set "on close" in 3.6.13 - it's a once off "run now" - hence your answer is invalid.

Well - I think my Firefox 3.6.13 had a bug which prevented recovery of my recently opened tabs. NOTHING that I've tried worked to recover those tabs when/if Firefox quits/shuts down. So - I ended up uninstalling Firefox. Rebooting my computer. Then reinstalled Firefox 3.6.13. And now Firefox is working fine again - recovering my recently opened tabs after shutdowns/crashes/etc. Thank you to everyone who tried to help - I appreciate your concern and assistance. Regards, Michael

PandaWood, how about the Tools > Options > Privacy setting for Clear history when Firefox closes?

Trust me - I've tried that and every options that I could think of. I believe the problem was a bug in the system. The newly re-installed Firefox is working perfectly in recovering recently opened tabs. Again, thank you to all who offered suggestions and assistance.

If Clear Recent History isn't used then check the setting in security software and cleanup software like CCleaner if you use such software.
