No matter what I have tried I cannot get logins saved. When I try manually I get an error message. A red strip saying "an error has occurred while trying to save this password"

Do you currently see any logins in the Password Manager (Lockwise) ?

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security: Logins and Passwords: "Saved Logins"

You can check for issues with the logins.json (login data) and key4.db (key file) files in the profile folder and try to rename these two files (loginsOLD.json and key4OLD.db) or move them to another location as a quick test.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

I'm 72 and your message is over my head. I have no idea what changing the file locations will do. I think I'll throw this copy away and download a new Firefox
